iPEN emerged from AgResearch's Adoption and Practice Change programme.
Since 2016 representatives from the CRIs have been regularly meeting and sharing experience, resources, and providing collegial support.
This website is one of several tools they are now using to continue grow a collegial network and to strengthen practice in Aotearoa New Zealand's research, science, and innovation sector.
In 2018 they sought support from Science New Zealand's board to undertake a more formal capability building programme of work.
